World Cup 2014. Brazil vs Croatia

Brazil 3-1 Croatia

Inevitably, it was all about Neymar. Nobody lives up to expectations like the young Brazil forward.

On the day he got his 50th cap, Neymar was once again the star of the show, scoring Brazil's first and second goals in their 3-1 opening day win over Croatia.

They were his fifth and sixth goals in his last four Brazil games and take his international total to 33.

Croatia were well organised, dangerous on the counter and they worked tirelessly.

What do you think about the penalty kick awarded to the Brazilian Neymar?

Footballers Past and Present

How many of these football players do you know? Which is your favourite? Are they still playing for a club or have they retired from the game?     Mesut Ozil Cristiano Ronaldo: Leave Gareth Bale alone and he will thrive at Real Vertonghen Ajax skipper.jpg

Chelsea V Schalke

Two inspirational goals from Fernando Torres and a late strike from Eden Hazard gave Chelsea a much needed win over  Schalke in Gelsenkirchen.

Jose Mourinho's side are now top of Group E. 'The three points were important after our opening defeat by Basel' said Torres after the game. The scars from that night have now well and truly healed for the Blues.

Chelsea struggled to keep possession of the ball at times and Schalke were dynamic in attack but a early goal from Torres within the first five minutes eased the tension.

The £50m signing seems to find his true form the moment he is on the continent. He choose his 100th start for Chelsea to score two vital goals that put his club on a much smoother path to the last 16 of the Champions League.

Julian Draxler, Schalke midfielder said 'I think the cleverer team won tonight. That's no disservice to us – we matched them at times but in the end we were helpless to stop them. They had three chances and scored three goals. Perhaps we were a little naive. You can't afford to make individual errors against a team like Chelsea.'

Chelsea's next game is against Man City on Sunday 27th October.
